  • Aaron has been with Engadget since 2014, becoming Editor-in-Chief in 2025.
  • As Features Editor, he led a small team to successive SFJ Excellence in Features awards: In 2019 Engadget received a third-place award for "On the Nose," and in 2020 a first place for "Impossible Foods' rising empire of almost-meat."
  • In preparation for the upcoming water wars, he's currently on a mission to build an off-the-grid fortress, complete with his favorite smart tech, on a quiet residential cul-de-sac in Phoenix, Arizona.

Experience

Aaron has been writing about design, technology, video games and culture for more than a decade. (Like, way more — his first feature was published on Gaming Age in 1998.) After three years at The Verge, he moved to Engadget in 2014 as a senior editor, reporting on everything from VR to immortal bacteria, before becoming features editor in 2017, executive editor in 2020, and editor-in-chief in 2025. Though features are still his passion, most days you'll find him looming menacingly over Engadget's writers to ensure the quality of all the site's stories.
